The President of Kenya delivers a courageous speech for a free and respected Africa

The President of Kenya, William Ruto, recently delivered a poignant and courageous speech. He’s very brave and courageous, and it’s important to follow leaders who dare to say things as they are, despite the fear of being criticized.

In his speech, the President expressed his indignation at the presence of 50 to 54 African presidents before a single president from elsewhere at international meetings, such as those between China and Africa or the USA and Africa. He considers it unacceptable for these presidents to appear before a single representative from another country, and proposes instead the creation of a commission or small group of African representatives to strengthen the continent’s power.

By representing Africa with a single person, Westerners know that Africans will be much more united, so, to try and separate them, they’ll call each country to its side to negotiate. “Divide and conquer” is their strategy.

One of the international meetings between Africa and the United States

Typically, these meetings are limited to photo opportunities, rather than real discussions and negotiations. Indeed, the time allotted for speaking, often just a minute and a half, does not allow for serious negotiations. Africa must be respected, and a commission or small group of African representatives must be set up at future meetings to assert the continent’s interests.

The President also deplored the differential treatment of African presidents at international events, compared with that reserved for other heads of state. For example, at the funeral of the Queen of England, African presidents were treated with less honor and respect, unlike their foreign counterparts who were treated with great consistency, involvement and allegiance. Only the President of Ethiopia dared to speak out against this lack of respect.

A call for financial responsibility and independence

He also stressed the importance of African contributions to the African Union in terms of funding. Obviously, if African countries don’t contribute enough, the African Union will be dependent on foreign donors. He therefore encourages Africans to contribute financially so that the continent can function autonomously and have the power to stand up against outside influences. Africans must assume their responsibilities and contribute to the continent’s development, without waiting to be called upon.

It’s also worth mentioning the safety issues arising from China’s so-called “free” achievements. Having built the African Union building in Addis Ababa at a cost of several million dollars, it was discovered much later that listening devices and software had been hidden by the Chinese in the computers used at certain meetings. These recordings were then transferred to China, compromising the confidentiality of discussions between African presidents. This may have happened because, unfortunately, Africans have allowed foreign entities to build and install free equipment, because in reality they have a certain aversion to development. Today, we find ourselves in a situation where the contribution comes from abroad. It’s deplorable!

Taking charge of the continent’s future for a united and prosperous Africa

African leaders need to take charge of the continent’s problems. Somalia, for example, is facing a situation that requires funding to resolve. Unfortunately, nothing has been done! There is also a lack of funding to arrest the generals who are destroying infrastructure and acting as puppets in the hands of foreign powers.

In conclusion, the President of Kenya presents himself as a courageous leader who wishes to see Africa united, independent and respected. He calls on Africans to contribute financially to the African Union and to solve their own problems, without excessive dependence on foreign powers. His speech reawakens the steps towards freedom that have unfortunately been hampered in the past, and he hopes that Africa can stand up and be fully recognized in the world.
