Child trafficking: a persistent threat

Human trafficking, particularly child trafficking, is a serious and long-standing problem. Although many governments claim to want to combat it, there seems to be an implicit knowledge of what’s really going on. A whistleblower has accused her government of complicity in child trafficking by acting as an intermediary.

A global trafficking network generating billions of dollars

According to reports, there was a crisis under Joe Biden’s administration, when many children were allowed into the country to be sent to orphanages. It is estimated that there are over 85,000 missing children. There are also numerous allegations that many children are trafficked in the U.S. and elsewhere for obscure purposes.

These children are ostensibly adopted, but in reality they are exploited for a variety of reasons. Some are used for illegal work, while others are placed in dangerous situations where they cannot ask for help. Traffickers profit from these children by using them as a source of income.

It’s disturbing to think how a child can be used to make money. There are suggestions that there may be a network involved in child trafficking, generating billions of dollars. Some governments may be indirectly complicit, allowing money to flow from one person to another.

What’s more, orphaned children, especially those from Guatemala who don’t speak Spanish or English, are often taken for adoption in foreign countries. However, instead of a better life, they often find themselves trapped in places where they can’t express themselves or ask for help.

Alarmingly, many people seem to ignore these problems. It is estimated that in this year alone, over 1.2 million children have been trafficked, many of them in Africa. Unfortunately, the number of convictions remains low compared to the number of children trafficked.

In many cases, children who could be adopted and have a better life are often abandoned or neglected. There are thousands of independent adoptions every year in the United States, where biological parents simply leave their child unattended.

It is essential to recognize that many children are eligible for adoption through the foster care system, and are waiting for a loving family. However, older children, children with disabilities or those with siblings often have difficulty finding adoptive families. There have also been recent reports of an American woman kidnapping children in Africa, without their parents’ knowledge. According to sources, she was arrested at the airport as she was about to board her flight.

There are also “facilitators”, people who act on their own initiative to match waiting children with potential parents, whether at home or abroad. They provide additional services such as translation and local transport. These facilitators operate in a legal gray area, and their status is uncertain in many jurisdictions.

Let’s be careful!

In conclusion, it is becoming crucial to become aware of these problems and to stand up to fight them. There’s a mafia network feeding the rich at the expense of children’s happiness and development. We need to open our eyes, because these mafia networks often even have angelic names like “White Helper” to divert attention.
