A “breeder” talented in the art of making money has become famous for fathering no fewer than 500 children in the Netherlands, thanks to sperm donations at various clinics. Far from being a con artist, this man was identified as Jonathan M., aged 41, by medical networks. Despite Dutch medical guidelines limiting the number of children a donor can sire to 25, in order to combat the risk of incest and psychological problems, Jonathan continued his sperm donations and is now being prosecuted.
However, it’s important to note that exceeding this limit is not considered a criminal offence in Holland, but this gentleman’s case was one too many. It was the mother of one of the children who sued, asking a Dutch court to prevent the man from making donations.
The “Donorkind” Foundation, which supports children born through sperm donation procedures and who are seeking to know their origins, is fighting to end donor anonymity. They have asked the Dutch authorities to destroy Jonathan’s samples, with the exception of those destined for women who have already had a child thanks to him, wishing to offer this child the possibility of having a brother or sister.
The use of sperm donors raises ethical and psychological questions about the potential absence of a father in the child’s life. Children generally need a father figure for balanced development, although this doesn’t mean that a single-parent family can’t provide a loving and secure environment.
Sperm donation, a livelihood for Jonathan M.

Jonathan M had already been excluded in 2017 by the Dutch company Obstétrics, as he had already fathered 102 children at the time, from 11 different clinics. This gentleman knew how to multiply donations and make money. Despite being a musician, this man still decided to pursue his genetic contribution.
It’s obvious that sperm donors like Jonathan M. make money by donating sperm. The amount varies from place to place, but it’s a source of income for many people.

Why do women tend to turn to sperm donors?

More and more women are choosing to have children with sperm donors rather than looking for a partner. There may be a number of reasons for this decision, some of which are worth highlighting.
Some women prefer to avoid the complications that can arise in a relationship with a man. They want to enjoy the benefits of a wife without necessarily being involved in a conjugal relationship. They seek to become mothers while remaining independent and without having to answer to a male partner.
For some, sperm donation enables them to avoid the conflicts and responsibilities that sometimes accompany married life. So they prefer to have children on their own, fully assuming their role as mothers.
However, this trend raises questions about the importance of paternal presence in raising children. Studies have shown that children who grow up with a mother and father together are often more psychologically balanced. The absence of a father figure can sometimes lead to problems for children. In the United States, for example, investigations show that 87% of black children who end up in prison are those who grew up without their fathers.
However, this is not the only problem. In fact, other women are forced to do so because infertility is a problem that unfortunately still persists. Many find it difficult to conceive with their partner and are forced to turn to sperm donors. This procedure will enable them to realize their dream of having a child.
